At McLean Cottage, we value our heritage and embrace a purposeful life through homeschooling, homesteading and community connection.

Inspired over two decades ago, McLean Cottage began as a dream of a soul-nourishing home through homesteading with sustainable practices and building meaningful friendships, influencing each others’ lives for the better.

Though we dream of a farmhouse with sweeping views of our handiwork, McLean Cottage is our cherished 1/3-acre middle-of-the-city home in the heart of the city—where tradition meets charm and every inch tells a story.

We integrate our favorite traditional life skills with modern techniques to cultivate a self-sustainable, present life that’s less hurried, rooted in intention and connection.

Meet The Founders

Bradley’s path back to his roots is a testament to the power of faith and family. The rhythms of cultivating land alongside the values of hard work and stewardship of the land were instilled in Bradley early in childhood. Life took a detour down a different path for a short time, but he found his way back to a self-sufficient lifestyle with his own unique approach that blends his family’s legacy with a sustainable future. As a husband and a father, his return to farming symbolizes a full-circle embrace of purpose, praying his children inherit the same legacy.

Despite being raised to embrace the conveniences and comforts of city life, Ashley’s old-soul spirit dreamt for something different- an ambitious career alongside a cozy farm life with her husband and children. The vision of riding horses across horizons as expansive as her imagination, coupled with the joy of nurturing animals and cultivating nutrient-rich food, has driven her life’s path. Ashley’s passion extends beyond farming. She is passionate about creating a home that warmly nourishes both body and soul; an environment where her family can grow wild—an everlasting testament to adventures and possibilities imagined.
